Other Athletics We Want to See: Schedule

Fri Aug 15
15.45: women's 10,000m. Dibaba (Eth) is favourite but we like Jo Pavey (GBR) and will be cheering her on.

Sat Aug 16 -
03.15: women's pole vault. Isinbayeva is poles apart; but watch out for Stuczynski (USA).
14.45: women's heptathlon concludes with 800m. Can Kelly Sotherton (GBR) pull it off?
15.30: men's 100m final. Spot the clean athlete...

Sun Aug 17
00.30: women's marathon. Apart from our Pauline, we will be watching for Paula Radcliffe, who is really up against it. Kenya's Nderba is favourite.
15.45: men's 10,000m final. That man Gebrselassie is up against young Turk Bekele.

Mon Aug 18
03.00: men's triple jump. The big question is whether Idowu can do it for GB - and what colour his hair will be.
12.20: women's pole vault final. Isibayeva again.
14.10: men's steeplechase final. Three Kenyans, and a few more Kenyans who have signed up for the Gulf nations do battle.
14.35: women's 800m final. Kenyan sensation Jelimo in action. Only began running the 800 this year after starting as a sprinter.

Tue Aug 19
15.50: men's 1500m final. Bernard Lagat (USA)

Thu Aug 21
13.20: men's triple jump final. Idowu again. Yes, we'd like to see him win.
14.45: men's 110m hurdles. Robles (Cub) v Liu Xiang (Chi). Could be the race of the Games.

Fri Aug 22
13.40: women's 5000m. Which Ethiopian will do it? Probably Tirunesh Dibaba, who is aiming for a 5/10,000m double.
Sat Aug 23
12.30: men's 800m. Watch out for 19 year old Kaki from Sudan.
12.50: women's 1500m
13.10: men's 5000m. Kenya v Ethiopia.
