Lisa Kearney from Belfast has become the first Irish female judo player ever to qualify for an Olympic Games, pending confirmation from the International Judo Federation early next week.
Lisa, who has spent the past two years attempting to qualify, nailed her spot at the European Championships in Chelyabinsk. Although she went out in the second round to Olympic champion Alina Dumitru, her two main rivals also lost their matches and now can't catch her in the rankings.
