Sprint Canoeist Jezierski Qualifies

Andre Jezierski racing for Ireland has qualified for the London 2012 at the European Olympic Qualifier in Poznan Poland.  Jezierski took the second  Olympic spot in the C1 (canoe kneeling)  200m sprint.
Born in Poland, Jezierski, now 31, has been in Ireland for the past six years and recently received his  Irish passport. He lives in Ballincolig Co Cork with his partner Patricia and three-year-old son Alex and trains at the National Rowing Centre in Farran Wood, Co Cork.
Jerzierski competed international for Poland between 1998 and 2005 and is a former world champion. He won a European U23 title in a C2 boat in 2000, and world titles in a C4 boat in 2002 and again in 2005.  This will be his first Olympics.

2002 Senior European Championships Szeged, Hungary silver c1-200m

2003 Senior World Championships Gainesville (USA), bronze c4-1000m

2004 Senior European Championships Poznan, Poland IV-th c1-200m

2005 Senior European Championships Poznan, Poland silver c4-1000m

2005 Senior World Championships Zagreb, Croatia gold c4-1000m, bronze c-4 500m
