Pyeongchang 2018: Bubba 22nd in half-pipe

Brendan ‘Bubba’ Newby, was just one place off qualifying for the half pipe skiing final after his  first run in Pyeongchang on Tuesday.
However a fall on his second run meant that he ended up 22nd from a field of 27 skiers; the top 12 making the final.
Newby was born in Cork while his father Van was a guest professor of economics at  UCC. Now aged 21, he grew grown up in Utah, USA.
Ireland has one more skier in action. Thomas Westgaard-Maloney will compete in the 50km mass start cross-country race on Saturday, February 24.
